Collaborative spaces allow for active learning and group problem-solving activities. These spaces facilitate peer-to-peer learning and can be appropriate for course instruction or individual events. Please see individual room details for available technology.
Computer classrooms are equipped with computer projection technology and a master demonstration station for instructors while individual workstations allow students to have a hands-on learning experience.

Digital technology labs offer members of the Penn Community the use of state-of-the-art equipment for working with all types of digital media including video, audio, imaging, graphic design and web publishing.
Lookup stations provide computers where you can drop in to check your email, use nearby print stations, or work on a research paper with assistance from library staff.
Penn Libraries offer a wide variety of group study rooms and booths for both small and large groups. Many of the rooms are equipped with white boards or chalkboards to facilitate brainstorming sessions.
Whether you are creating a multi-media presentation for a class or simply recording your oral presentation to polish your public speaking skills, Penn Libraries have specially designed facilities to accommodate a wide range of media production tasks from the simple to the sophisticated.
Seating that requires no reservation is located in quiet spaces and in areas for informal gatherings. First come, first served. You’ll find a variety of open seating throughout the Penn Libraries, including soft seating, traditional library tables, and individual desks.
Designated areas within the Libraries are for individual, quiet study. Students respectfully refrain from chatting and cell phone use in these areas.

For large-scale meetings and events, Penn Libraries offer reservable spaces with flexible physical accommodations.
Media study spaces provide students with the facilities and the equipment they need to immerse themselves in Penn Libraries’ rich audio and film collections.
Students will find carrels for individual study throughout the Penn Libraries. Van Pelt, Fisher Fine Arts and the Museum libraries offer carrels that can be reserved by registered students and used for library book storage. Please contact the circulation desk of the specific library for details.

The data visualization space can be used for presentations and instruction. It features multiple HD displays that can be used separately to project multiple device screens or together to project one larger image.
