Internal Funding Sources

• Sachs Program for Arts Innovation: Sachs will provide support for the arts at Penn and the wider Philadelphia region; Grant opportunities that align with the themes of 2026. Grant making will support art-making in the university; does not have to be art-centric, but must have a creative component (flexible).
• SNF Paideia program: The Program will provide support for courses for 2026 which focus on dialogue around democracy and citizenship President’s Office: Draw Down the Lightning Grants
• America 250 Course Development Grants: Applications are now open for Penn faculty interested in developing undergraduate and graduate courses that engage directly with America 250 and its themes.
   

External Funding Sources

• ArtPhilly: many parts of the University are working with ArtPhilly around 2026 programming relating to the arts
• Philadelphia Funder Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial

• The Revolutionary City: Penn is contributing digitized materials from the collections of the Penn Libraries and from the City Archives to the portal
