Psychoanalysis Collection
The Psychoanalysis Collection includes materials related to both the theory and practice of psychoanalysis. Materials cover the first decades of formal psychoanalytic thought and extend to contemporary clinical applications of the varied schools of modern psychoanalysis.
Supported by the Fanny and Michael Pertnoy Endowed Fund for Psychoanalytic Studies, these materials continue to support today’s learning communities at Penn, which in 2015 founded one of the country’s few Minor in Psychoanalytic Studies programs.
Collection Overview
Penn’s collections span the wide range of psychoanalytic schools of thought, encompassing major works by the Sigmund and Anna Freud, Rank, Adler, Ferenczi, Jung, Klein, Winnicott, Lacan, and many others. The collection spans multiple languages but is particularly strong in English, German, and French.
