Anna is responsible for collection development for all Chinese-language materials and research support duties for Chinese studies. Together with Rebecca Mendelson, she serves as a liaison to the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and the Center for East Asian Studies.

Anna’s research interests include Chinese religious history, Daoist studies, and the cultural history of early China. She is a specialist in Chinese divination practices. Prior to working for Penn, Anna was a Research and Instruction librarian at Haverford College. Her experience as a librarian includes a diverse range of collection development and research support in East Asian languages and cultures, religion, philosophy, and the arts.

Anna holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Michigan, an M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.A. from the University of Hawai’i in Chinese history, and a B.A. in history from Brooklyn College (City University of New York).
