

Joe Zucca is Associate Vice Provost for Organizational Impact and Effectiveness, at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries. In this capacity he oversees the Libraries’ four-member Assessment Team, UX Research, Strategic Communications, Facilities and Capital Projects Planning, and Labor Relations. In a long career at Penn, he has directed the Libraries’ technology services, strategic planning, and assessment, which included seminal work on Management Information technology. He has participated with Penn officials in collective bargaining, coordinated the campus-wide introduction of the Canvas Learning Management System, and held a variety of committee memberships including Penn’s Senior Roundtable (current) and its IT Roundtable; the ARL Research and Analytics Committee, and ARL Library Assessment Conference Program Committee; the NISO Z39.7 Working Group on Statistics and Measurement (co-chair); the Project COUNTER Executive Committee; and the Board of the Platform for Open Discovery (current). Joe was also part of the Mellon-funded Open Library Environment Design Project and is an alumnus of the Leadership at Penn program.
