Based in the Biomedical Library, Manuel's work centers on liaising with research communities, forging and strengthening relationships with research cores and other campus partners, and spearheading new and innovative services. He also supervises the manager of the Biotech Commons Makerspace and the newly appointed Visualizationist.

Manuel provides support in: Troubleshooting MyNCBI, SciENcv, and PMCID/NIH Public Access submissions; managing researcher profiles in ORCiD, Google Scholar, ScopusID, and ResearcherID; creating bibliometrics reports, co-authorship network visualizations, and determining impact metrics such as H-index and Impact Factor; consulting on data visualizations; consulting on all the suite of NCBI databases for bioinformatics and on BioCyc. Manuel also serves as the Libraries' Liaison to the Biomedical Graduate Studies program at the Perelman School of Medicine.
