Michelle serves as the primary knowledge-based information liaison for Pennsylvania Hospital clinicians, providing evidence for patient care decisions and quality and performance improvement interventions. She partners to conduct research and evidence-based practice initiatives and contributes to publication of findings and outcomes in literature and at professional conferences.

Michelle joined Penn Libraries from Harvard Medical School, where she served as the Manager of a team of research and instruction librarians. Prior to that, Michelle held roles at the Stanford University School of Medicine and the University of Chicago, applying her vast experience as a research librarian.

She holds a B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester, a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Educational Psychology and a Ph.D. in Education Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
