Sam Kirk is responsible for collection development and instruction related to psychology, social work, and social policy, and is the main library liaison to Penn's School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) and the Psychology Department within the School of Arts & Sciences. Prior to becoming the Social Sciences Librarian, Sam worked for many years as the Information Literacy Librarian at Penn Libraries, and later managed the curricula support program for Drexel University Libraries. She has published on subjects ranging from using comics in critical librarianship to incorporating game-based learning in reference instruction. Sam holds a BA in English from George Washington University and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University.
