From a 14th-century copy of the French theologian Peter of Poitiers’ Compendium historiae, with copious diagrams, to issues of Emma Goldman’s journal Mother Earth, promoting anarchist ideas, free speech, and radical social change, to Black Power, 1969, a limited edition calendar created by the German artist H.C. Schmolck, to a set of engraved plates with designs for rustic cottage furniture, to Alan Koss’ photographs of the Bicentennial protest in Philadelphia on July 4, 1976, to Zugh d'tutt i zugh, a single-sheet etching for a dice game, with each of the squares illustrating a different type of game, to screenplays for the film Driving Miss Daisy and a televised stage production of Antony and Cleopatra, to the original manuscript of the essay “Yo, Judio”, in the hand of Jorge Luis Borges, the 20th-century Argentine literary giant, and much, much more.
Stop by to get a firsthand look at these new arrivals and learn about them from the Kislak curatorial staff. This is a drop-in event; registration is not required.
