Adobe Illustrator Workshop

This beginner workshop will cover the basics of Adobe Illustrator while creating an illustration. Attendees will learn about vector vs. raster graphics, color modes, creating and manipulating basic shapes, importing data for figure-making, and more.

Creative and visually striking graphics elevate a researcher’s communication across multiple settings, from informal lab meetings, conference posters and talks, and ultimately publications. Adobe Illustrator is a useful creative tool to generate graphics. The purpose of this beginner workshop is to cover the basics of Adobe Illustrator while creating an illustration.

Attendees will learn about vector vs. raster graphics, user interface, color modes, creating and manipulating basic shapes, importing data for figure-making, and more. Attendees will be given a learning packet, which contains a summary of the tools covered in the workshop as well as a brief explanation of how to use some of the more advanced features.
