This workshop offers a more intense bookbinding experience, introducing participants to the Bradel Binding and in-boards binding techniques.
This workshop offers a more intense bookbinding experience introducing participants to the Bradel Binding and in-boards binding techniques. While there are many variations of in-board bindings—laced, adhered boards, etc.—all are covered with the boards attached to the book, a major difference from our modern hardcover books. Participants will be making their own book using the Bradel Binding technique which includes sewing, spine lining, making a paper bonnet, and covering the book with decorative papers. This workshop is suited for those who have already taken bookbinding courses.
All supplies provided freely.
Registration is required, and opens three weeks before the workshop.
