An open book with button hole stitches

Button hole stitich is a non-adhesive binding method with a paper cover, exposed sewing, and opening along the spine. This method binds the signatures and cover together simultaneously with one length of thread. Instructor Erica Honson is the studio coordinator for the Common Press.

Use it as a notebook or sketchbook, a gift, or a model for additional handmade books.

All supplies provided.

No prior bookbinding experience necessary.
