A happy mole is binding a book

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the French Link Stitch, a multi-signature sewing method possibly inspired by 16th century embroidery patterns. It's a non-adhesive binding which can be done with or without supports, cased into a hardcover and hidden, or sewn onto paper covers and left exposed. We will be completing this binding using paper covers with pockets, and leaving the sewing exposed.

Use it as a notebook or sketchbook, a gift, or a model for additional handmade books.

Instructor Erica Honson is studio coorindator for Common Press.

All supplies provided freely.

No prior bookbinding experience necessary; all types welcome!
