Coffee with a Codex: Arabic Medical Manuscript

An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On February 20, curator Dot Porter will bring out LJS 446, sections from Book I of Avicenna's medical encyclopedia القانون في الطب (al-Qānūn fī al-ṭibb). It was likely copied in Spain, in Cordoba or Toledo, in the first half of the 12th century. (OPenn, CWAC Recording)
