Coffee with a Codex: Astronomical Texts (Two fragments from the same original manuscript)

An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On July 31, Curator Dot Porter will bring out LJS 188 and LJS 191, copies of a number of astronomical texts in Middle English, in two portions of an original manuscript that is now in four parts. The original manuscript was written in England circa 1496. (LJS 188: OPenn, BiblioPhilly, Internet Archive; LJS 191: OPenn, BiblioPhilly, Internet Archive; CWAC Recording)
