Coffee with a Codex: Astronomy in Arabic

An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On April 9, curator Dot Porter brought out LJS 478, a collection of astronomical treatises, with a particular focus on the astrolabe. The copy was completed in A.H. Jumādá al-Ākhirah 625 (May 1228). (OPenn, Colenda, BiblioPhilly, Internet Archive, CWAC Recording)
