Coffee with a Codex: Collection of Sermons
An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.
On January 30, Schoenberg Curator of Manuscripts Nick Herman brought out LJS 477, a collection of sermons, probably compiled from multiple sources, belonging to a preacher. It also includes a large number of diagrams. It was written in England, perhaps at the Dominican Convent in Oxford, ca. 1250. (OPenn, BiblioPhilly, Internet Archive, CWAC Recording)
