Coffee with a Codex: Plans of Fortifications
An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.
On June 13, curator Dot Porter brought out Ms. Codex 1634, plans of fortifications for use at the royal academy of artillery and fortification founded in Turin in 1678, consisting entirely of figures of plans and elevations, some with landscape elements added in the background. Written in Turin, 1759. (OPenn, CWAC Recording)
