Coffee with a Codex On The Road: Bat Book at the Rosenbach

For Coffee With A Codex on October 16, Curator Dot Porter will visit the Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia, where she'll join Rosenbach Librarian Elizabeth Fuller for a look at MS 1004/29, a mid-fourteenth-century physician's belt book containing calendar, tables of solar and lunar eclipses, anatomical phlebotomy diagram, and urine wheel.

An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.

It's referred to as a bat book, because it unfolds like a pair of bat wings.
