Coffee with a Codex: Secretum Secretorum

An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators.

On February 2, Curator Dot Porter will bring out four copies of Secretum secretorum, in Arabic and Latin–LJS 459, LJS 456, Ms. Codex 917, and Ms. Codex 864. Secretum secretorum is a popular treatise presented as a letter from Aristotle to Alexander the Great on statecraft, astronomy, astrology, magic, and medicine. (CWAC Recording)
