Welcome to Metals & Jewelry!
Step into the world of metalworking with this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop. You’ll learn key safety practices while exploring the fundamentals of using a hydraulic press, jeweler’s saw, and flex shaft rotary tool. Guided by the theme of health science, you’ll work with fine and base metals—using impression dies to create a unique pendant that’s entirely your own.

This workshop is part of our Re/Make History exhibit in partnership with the Penn Museum Library. Participants will have the option to showcase their finished pendant in the Spring 2026 exhibition. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with the museum’s collections through creative, tactile exploration—bringing history to life, one handmade piece at a time.
