This workshop explores the fundamentals of hand bookbinding, including basic sewing and paper-folding skills, vocabulary, and the use of bookbinding tools. We will create three unique book structures: the pamphlet, an accordion and a single page book. You can use what you learn in this workshop to practice many other forms of bookbinding, including more advanced structures.

Open to Penn cardholders, all materials provided. No experience necessary. Registration is required and opens 3 weeks before the workshop.

Instructor Jessica Peterson is director of the Common Press.
