Violinist Min-Young Kim dreams up a program of fantasies for solo violin, two violins and violin and piano with friends Mandy Wolman (violin) and Matt Bengtson (piano).

Ranging from Josquin des Prez to a Philadelphia premiere by composer and Penn alumnus Jeremy Gill. “Fantasia” also features Florence Price’s rhapsodic Fantasie no. 2 in F# minor and concludes with Schubert's tour de force in C major. Integral to Price’s Fantasie is her setting of the spiritual “Workin’ on My Building, as well as William Levi Dawson’s version of “Talk About a Child that Do Love Jesus”, both manuscripts of which are housed in the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts as part of the Marian Anderson Collection.
Pre-concert lecture at 6:15 by Min-Young Kim, followed by the concert (no intermission) at 7:00 pm.
