A sweeping vista: houses are visible in the valley in the foreground, mountain ranges nearby are covered in green growth, and taller mountains in the distance are capped with snow, while the sun peeks between clouds

Penn students conduct fieldwork and research around the world, and their photographs this year capture architecture, landscapes, animal encounters, and joyous moments of discovery in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Contributing student photographers are from the University of Pennsylvania's departments of Anthropology, Art and Archaeology of the Mediterranean World, Classics/Ancient History, East Asian Languages and Civilizations, and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations: Shriya Amin, Kara Butler, Kristina Donnally, Gwyneth Fletcher, Juliet Glazer, Arielle Hardy, Mackenzie Hill, Eric Hubbard, Xiao Schutte Ke, Qi Liu, Mackenzie McKillip, Autumn Melby, John Sigmier, Marc Marin Webb, Vernon Wells, and Xinyi Ye.

Top-place entries, by Mackenzie McKillip, Xiao Schutte Ke, and Kristina Donnally, were selected by attendees at the Graduate Student Mixer sponsored by the Penn Museum Graduate Advisory Council and the Penn Museum Academic Engagement department.
