Come to learn communication strategies to reach policymakers. In the first part of the workshop, a former policymaker will explain how to translate your research so that policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels of government understand the evidence and how it connects to their policy work. Learn how to understand your policy audience and frame your message effectively. In the second part of the workshop, we will learn to leverage design options that support storytelling through data, with the goal of translating research findings for policy change. We will review the basics of the data visualization tool, Datawrapper, so participants can create their own data story using a simple dataset.

A laptop is needed for this workshop.
