Welcome to Sewing Machine 101!
Stitch, create, and build confidence in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop! You’ll learn essential sewing machine operations of the Janome JW8100 and JUKI TL-2010Q including threading, winding a bobbin, selecting stitches, and controlling speed. You’ll also get familiar with different fabric types, learn how to choose the right fabric for your project, and practice reading and following a basic sewing pattern. By the end of the workshop, you’ll complete a beginner-friendly sewing project of your own and gain the skills needed to independently reserve and use the sewing machines in the Education Commons.

Learning Outcome: By the end of this session, students will demonstrate safe and proper operation of a sewing machine, including threading, basic machine setup, and troubleshooting common issues.

*This workshop is required for anyone who wishes to reserve the JUKI TL-2010Q sewing machine
