The Studio Use Training is a one-hour intensive session focused on proper studio practices in order to use Common Press independently as an advanced user. This training is not a creative class. It is designed to ensure safe and proper use of the studio and equipment. It may also be taken as a refresher for those who have previously completed workshops and need a technique review. Please see Print Your Own Postcard workshops if you would like to try letterpress printing yourself, or an interested in a more creative workshop.

During this training, participants review:

  • Proper typesetting, leading, and spacing
  • Ink mixing
  • Press setup and operation
  • Type distribution and cleanup

Participants receive a studio manual to keep and use for reference.
