This workshop teaches researchers how to use DMPTool, a free online open-source tool, to write Data Management & Sharing Plans (DMSP). After this session, learners will:
- understand the basic components of a DMSP,
- understand how to utilize DMPTool to streamline their DMSP writing, and
- recognize on campus data management support.
This will also help prepare researchers for the new NIH Data Management & Sharing Policy which requires all researchers receiving funding from the NIH to write a DMSP. The main audience for this session are researchers who are writing a DMSP for a grant proposal, but those who are interested in writing a DMSP for project management purposes, such as for lab or team environments, and not for a grant submission are encouraged to join.
This session is in partnership between the Leon Levy Dental Medicine Library and the Research Data & Digital Scholarship department of the Penn Libraries. Although this session is focused on dental researchers, content will be applicable to all research fields and all are welcome to attend.
