
Erik Gershwind serves as President and Chief Executive Officer for MSC Industrial Supply Co., a leading North American distributor of metalworking and maintenance, repair, and operations products and services based in Melville, New York. For over 20 years, Erik has managed key aspects of MSC's business. Erik served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2011-2012, was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2009, and was elected to MSC's Board of Directors in October 2010. Erik graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. Erik serves on the Board of Directors for the Gershwind and Jacobson charitable foundations and as Chair of the Board of Advisors for the University of Pennsylvania Libraries. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Sid Jacobson JCC of East Hills, New York, and is a member of the UJA Federation of New York’s New Leadership Committee. Erik lives in Old Westbury, New York, with his wife, Jackie, and three children, Jake, Sophie, and Max.
