Eugene Garfield Residency in Science Librarianship

Established by library Advisor Eugene Garfield, the Eugene Garfield Residency in Science Librarianship arose from an idea to support a growing information literacy program in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Penn. 

“The Libraries are very proud of this initiative and so thankful to Gene for making it possible,” said Carton Rogers, former Vice Provost and Director of Libraries.

The Residency is intended to provide a new librarian with practical experience and preparation for a permanent position in science librarianship. While similar programs exist at other universities, this one is unique in its focus on science librarianship.
