Singh Family Fund for South Asian Studies

Established in 2012 by Rohit Singh and his wife, Vandita, the Singh Family Fund supports the acquisition of materials for South Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries for the benefit of scholars at Penn's Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI). Rohit and Vandita are second generation Indian Americans and active philanthropists, primarily supporting causes in education and international development. Rohit and Vandita believe deeply that research regarding the South Asian diaspora is necessary and worthwhile. They established the fund in honor of Rohit's parents, Dr. Rajendra and Ms. Veena Singh, and the extended Singh family.

Rohit and Vandita have both spent their careers in the financial services industry. Rohit serves as an Executive Director in Investment Banking Coverage at J.P. Morgan, where he is responsible for covering a diverse range of corporate clients in the retail and apparel sectors. Vandita serves in the Leveraged Finance Group at Goldman Sachs and focuses primarily on the healthcare sector. She has been an investment banker and investment professional, and has diverse transaction expertise across the healthcare, consumer & retail and financial institutions sectors.

Rohit graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business. He holds a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in International Studies. He was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa. In 2012, he served as Co-Chair of his 10-year reunion at Penn. He supports the Penn Libraries as a member of the Orrery Society's Regional Advisory Council of New York. Rohit is also a member of The New York Public Library's President's Council, The Ohio State University's President's Club, and Stanford University's Leadership Fund. He serves as Co-Chair of The New York Public Library's Young Lions Committee.

Vandita attended Stanford University and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Relations. She also has a MBA from Yale University's School of Management.
