When you walk into Penn’s newly renovated medical library, do you ever notice that beautiful Zebrafish on the left side of the wall? Well, the USPS has chosen the Juvenile Zebrafish to be the new forever stamp. The artist Daniel Castranova is an aquatic research specialist at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, where he studies intricate biological systems in fish that are similar to ones in humans and can be used to advance medical science. Castranova used the zebrafish that had been developed in the lab to show the different colors of the body tissues. Stop by the Holman Biotech Commons to see the new forever stamp!
