Wellness Walk : Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793 in Philadelphia
Come and join the special edition Penn Walks 2 Wellness on a journey through historic Philadelphia!

In this special edition of Penn Walks 2 Wellness, we will be a taking a guided historic walking tour of Old City! Planned in conjunction with the NLM exhibit “Politics of Yellow Fever in Alexander Hamilton’s America”, on view in the Holman Biotech Commons from February 3rd to March 15th, we will be visiting various sites related to Philadelphia’s 1793 yellow fever epidemic to uncover this often-forgotten history and explore the ways our tangible environment can connect us to the past.
Tour participants will meet on Penn's campus and then travel via SEPTA together to Old City. Led by a live guide telling the story of the Yellow Fever outbreak, stops will include Elfreth's Alley, Dock Street, the Dr. Benjamin Rush House Site, Mother Bethel AME Church, and the Christ Church Burial Ground.
