

Amrey develops digital library applications that support teaching, learning, and research at the University.
Before joining the digital library development team at Penn Libraries, Amrey worked as a graduate researcher and instructor at the University of Pennsylvania where he implemented a multi-year humanities research project and taught undergraduate students in the Africana Studies Department. He also worked as a Digital Initiatives Scholar at the UCLA Library Special Collections where he managed digitization projects and facilitated engagement with the library’s digital collections.
Amrey earned a Ph.D. in Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in African American Studies at UCLA, and a double B.A. in Black Studies and Economics from Amherst College.
