Jess contributes to the long-term physical preservation of the circulating and distinctive collections at Penn Libraries through a collaborative, holistic approach to preventive and interventive treatment solutions.
Before coming to Penn Libraries, Jess was the Conservation Resident at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where they contributed their skills in analytical research, book and paper conservation, and outreach while expanding their professional experiences. Jess is a graduate of the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC) with a specialization in Library and Archives Conservation Education. Jess holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut and is a current member of the American Institute for Conservation, The Guild of Bookworkers, and the Philadelphia Area Conservation Association (PACA).
