Committee Chair/Sponsor

As the Director of the Goldstein Information Processing Center (IPC), Katia leads the departments responsible for shaping policies, setting goals, and establishing standards for acquiring and cataloging a wide range of physical and digital objects in multiple languages. Katia also manages the Penn Libraries Research Annex facility, overseeing both its public and technical service operations. Her additional duties include budgetary management for the IPC and LIBRA, as well as fostering and facilitating partnerships with both internal and external organizations.

A dedicated leader at the Penn Libraries, Katia is committed to advancing the role of metadata in enhancing library resources and supporting scholarly pursuits. Her interests center around Linked Open Data initiatives and the use of AI to enrich metadata. Katia actively participates in the Ivies+ Library Consortium for both technical services and storage, OCLC Metadata Managers, and ALA Core Technical Services Directors and Library Storage.

Katia holds an MLIS from the University of British Columbia, an M.A. in Musicology from McGill University, and an Honors B.Mus. in Performance from the University of Western Ontario.
