Kelly works within the Libraries’ Impact Assessment and Organizational Analysis team to build a program of research on use of the Penn Libraries, especially within the context of larger developments in the landscape of higher education information services, teaching, and research. The goal of this research is to inform decision making and ensure continued alignment between Library services, the needs of the Penn community, and Penn’s overall mission.

Kelly came to Penn Libraries from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she conducted research on strategies for improving shared decision making among healthcare providers, adolescents with chronic health conditions, and their families. Prior to this, she was a research fellow at the University of Michigan’s Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine. Kelly previously worked at Penn in both the Psychology Department and the Center for Neuroscience and Society.

Kelly has a PhD in Behavioral Decision Research from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in English from Princeton University. She has additional training in public science communication and research outreach.
