As a Library Specialist at the Library Research Annex (LIBRA), Kelsey intakes material, carries out copy cataloging, and performs record cleanup for materials from all of the Penn Libraries. Her recent projects have included ongoing maintenance of the Penn First Plus GIC Collection housed at LIBRA, ingestion of material from the Morris Arboretum Library, and the intake of serials and monographs from the large-scale stacks reset project at the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center.
Kelsey has worked at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Libraries for many years, holding positions in rare book digitization, public and technical services in several departmental libraries, and as an administrative assistant for longtime library director Carton Rogers. She has extensive experience working with general collections, as well as archives, rare books, and museum collections. Kelsey has a working knowledge of several ancient and modern languages, which she often applies to her work in LIBRA. Prior to Penn Libraries, she worked in the Mediterranean Section of the Penn Museum and at the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum.
Kelsey holds a Master of Information from Rutgers University, with a focus on Library and Information Science, and a B.A. in Ancient Studies and Art History from Mount Holyoke College. In addition, she has studied classical and modern languages at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale.
