Kylee Manganiello is the inaugural Secondary School Outreach Fellow at the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts.

Before coming to Penn Libraries, Kylee was a teacher in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The daughter of educators, Kylee has worked with preschoolers, college students, and nearly every age in between as a classroom teacher, mentor, camp counselor, and peer tutor. Though she has taught a variety of subjects, she is especially passionate about teaching history. Kylee believes that history is not merely something you learn passively, but rather something you do. As such, she strives to create engaging and impactful inquiry-based learning experiences that tap into students’ innate curiosity and push them to think critically about the past alongside the present.

Kylee holds a B.S. in Social Studies Education from Boston University and is a doctoral student in the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland. She is eager to leverage her skills in research and pedagogy to create meaningful educational resources and experiences for the broader Philadelphia community.
