Lorin Jackson (she/they) is an academic librarian and adjunct professor with an eight-year background in diverse library environments. Holding an MI from Rutgers University and an MA in Philosophy and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies, Lorin dedicates her career to advancing inclusivity within the information sciences field. In 2016, Lorin worked as a Humanities and Social Sciences Librarian Intern at Penn Libraries while completing her MI degree. At Swarthmore College from 2018 to 2021, she worked as the interim Head of Access and User Services, Black Studies Librarian, and Research and Instruction Resident Librarian. From 2021 to 2024, Lorin was the inaugural Executive Director of the Region 2 Regional Medical Library of the Network of the National Library of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Lorin is the Assistant Director of the Holman Biotech Commons. She manages reference and patron services, supervises staff, and facilitates collaboration across Penn. 

In addition to leadership experience, Lorin previously achieved Assistant Professor status and has worked as an Adjunct professor for over five years. She provides instructional training on trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and institutional oppression in libraries with the Medical Library Association, Syracuse University's iSchool, and Library Juice Academy. She is co-founder of the National Endowment for the Humanities-awarded, American Library Association-recognized, and Library of Congress-cited blog publication WOC+Lib. She actively contributes to professional committees and has published several works focusing on challenges and innovations in the information sciences field.
