Yvonne has a multifaceted role as the Literacy Project & Planning Manager within the Penn Libraries Community Engagement (PLCE) Department. She spearheads efforts to standardize organization and cataloging practices across partner school libraries through weekly visits, observation, small group conversations, and resource development. Additionally, Yvonne creates and facilitates training sessions on school library policy, procedures, and best practices for school library management. She also develops literacy curricula for learners of all ages.

Yvonne previously worked on the PLCE team during her time as a Masters student at GSE. During this time, she wrote curriculum for and facilitated English Conversation Groups, delivered library programming at elementary schools, wrote a proposal for revamping a school library space to increase discoverability, and led the cataloging of an entire elementary school library that is now successfully open to students. Outside of her work with Penn Libraries, she was an English instructor at the Free Library of Philadelphia, delivered English courses at the Philadelphia Senior Center, and taught ESL at the Education First International Language Campus.

Yvonne holds a Master of Science in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
