Finding Reserve Materials

Staff at the Circulation/Reserve desk will retrieve materials when you submit a call number.
To find call numbers and other information about location, please consult Franklin. You can search for reserve materials by course and by instructor.

Use within the library

The requested item is charged to your PennCard, Biotech Commons Borrower's Card, or Library Courtesy Card for a two-hour period. When you borrow, you may request a longer borrowing period, or ask to renew one time. If the item is heavily used, borrowing is limited to one hour with no renewals. If you do not have a borrower's card, ask for assistance.

Home use

Certain reserve books may be checked out for home use overnight after 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, after 9 p.m. on Fridays, and after 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Clasp envelope materials do not circulate overnight.

Returning Biotech Commons Reserve Books

Return Reserve books only to the Biotech Commons Circulation/Reserve desk. Reserve items should not be returned to other campus libraries. When returning items checked out overnight, if the Biotech Commons is closed, use the book return slot next to the outside entrance to the Biotech Commons.

Books are due on the next day the Library is open; by 9 a.m. Monday to Friday, by 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Fines

The Biotech Commons does not charge fines for in-house reserve use.
