Books placed on reserve in departmental libraries, school libraries, or Van Pelt Reserves are listed in Franklin, the online catalog. Books on reserve at the Fisher Fine Arts Library have a Status/Location in their Franklin records of "Fine Arts Library – Reserve." Students wishing to consult print items on course reserve at Fisher should do so at the Fisher circulation desk with their PennCard.
Occasionally, art and architecture reserve materials may be found in Van Pelt Reserve, located on the 1st floor of the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center.
Electronic reserves will be accessible through your Canvas course site under the "Penn Libraries Course Reserves" button.
Faculty may place books, journal articles and other materials on reserve at the Fine Arts Library. Please coordinate items to be placed on reserve as soon as possible by: emailing or providing a printed list or annotated syllabus to our Reserves Coordinator; or submitting requests via Canvas or Franklin (instructions below). Increasingly, departmental staff scan submitted materials for uploading to Canvas. To ensure maximum availability for all users, most reserve materials do not leave the library. Some reserve items circulate overnight: contact Fisher's Reserves Coordinator for additional information. If we need to purchase a title for your course, let us know. But please note: we do not purchase textbooks for the collection.
