Bioinformatics Tools

To support and enhance the bioinformatics needs on campus, the library offers databases to assist in genomic research.

Molecular Pathway

Collection Overview

The library offers supplementary databases to support the high-end bioinformatics needs on campus. These resources fill the gaps that are not met from the PSOM Research Cores. We provide access to Biocyc, a collection of 20,050 Pathway/Genome Databases for model eukaryotes and for thousands of microbes, plus software tools for exploring them. It contains multiple pathway databases such as HumanCyc, MetaCyc and EcoCyc. We also offer Repbase, which is used in genome sequencing projects as a reference collection for masking and annotation of repetitive DNA. Lastly, we have TAIR, the Arabidopsis Information Resource, a database of genetic and molecular biology data for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana.
