Knovel Interactive Engineering Ebooks

The Knovel ebook collection provides access to hundreds of engineering reference works. Like most ebook platforms, titles may be accessed and read via keyword search or browsing by discipline and topic. Users may also set up an account on the site and create their own private bookshelf of titles they consult frequently.

Beyond that, Knovel offers additional features of particular use to engineering students and faculty. A separate search capability enables queries into the material property data tables throughout the collection. Over one hundred property types may be searched by entering numeric values using "equal to," "greater than"/"less than," or "between values" functions or by whether a value simply exists for a substance.

Knovel has also enabled most of the data tables and graphs within the collection to be interactive. Users can manipulate, filter, and sort the data as needed and can export the results for future use.

Finally, Knovel offers a section of interactive equations with worked examples as well as a unit converter function to facilitate engineering calculations. Users may set up worksheets using any of the offered equations and incorporate text, mathematics, images and plots. They can then save these worksheets within their Knovel account for future use. With all of these features, Knovel provides a virtual toolbox for practicing engineers.
