Penn has had a long history of scholarship on monasticism during the Middle Ages. Many of the important primary texts were published and edited by Penn faculty. The religious studies collection includes nearly every primary and secondary source on the subject.

Penn has had a long history of research on monasticism during the middle ages. Many of the important primary texts were published and edited by Penn faculty. The religious studies collection includes nearly every primary and secondary source on the subject. All the major abbeys and orders are covered. We will also have many of the historical journals associated with the various orders such as the Carthusians and Benedictines.
