Employee Advisory Committee
Charge
The Employee Advisory Committee is a representative group of staff that advises the Senior Leadership team on issues relating to the Penn Libraries staff experience. Members are expected to solicit feedback from staff across the Libraries, review best practices from the profession, and prepare recommendations for continued improvements to the staff experience. The thematic focus of the group will change on an annual basis and will be informed by committee recommendations. Themes may include:
- Enhancing internal communication
- Professional development
- Policies and procedures
- Onboarding
- Opportunities to socialize or learn about each other
For the 2023-2024 academic year, the theme is enhancing internal communication.
Committee Chairs
Laurel Graham
Laurel is primarily responsible for the development and management of the Dental Library. She preaches every day, 9-5, from her home pulpit on Fridays; the necessity of vetting all evidence after searching properly a variety of sources to answer one's well-developed clinical, as well as any other type of, question, in addition to her everyday role of ring leader at the Dental Circus Library. Each year she officates the Lecture Circus: an academic exercise in interdisciplinary discourse and discovery!
