Generative AI tools will revolutionize both the educational and administrative branches of Penn. Presented collaboratively by the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Innovation; Information Systems & Computing, and the Penn Libraries, this event series is designed specifically for Penn faculty and staff, focusing on the tools and resources available within the Penn ecosystem. Participants will engage in in-person, interactive sessions aimed at enhancing their generative AI knowledge and skills using platforms and technologies supported at Penn.
Topics range from introductory AI literacy to practical applications, with a focus on responsible use and real-world relevance. Attend a single session or the full series, based on your interests. Each topic will be presented several times throughout the academic year. Use the date/time buttons under each session to register. In this introductory workshop, you will engage in hands-on activities to explore the core functions of popular generative AI tools, including those available at Penn. You will learn how to identify appropriate tools for common tasks and evaluate the reliability of their outputs. No prior AI experience is required.

You will learn how to determine whether AI supports specific pedagogical goals and leave with actionable strategies to leverage AI in teaching and course design. This workshop is ideal for faculty and instructional staff who have a basic understanding of generative AI tools.
In this skills-focused workshop, you will use generative AI tools to make common workplace tasks easier and more efficient. You will learn to craft effective prompts and identify use cases where AI does or does not add value to your work. No technical background is needed – just curiosity about how you might work smarter with AI.
