On December 4, South Asian Studies Librarian Jef Pierce will bring out Ms. Coll. 390 Item 3020, a manuscript that contains the legend of Kālaka, important to the Śvetāmbara Jains and read during the first night of the Paryuṣaṇā. It is beautifully illustrated, and was written sometime between 1700 and 1850. We'll also look at a manuscript made from palm leaves, which informs the format of the later paper manuscript.

Note that the Zoom links for Coffee With a Codex are reusable - register once and attend every Thursday at 12pm EST / 5pm GMT.
