Plushies!
Stitch, learn, and explore history! This lunchtime workshop invites students to create a Chnoubis plushie through hands-on sewing, all while diving into the art, culture, and symbolism of ancient Egypt. Hand sewing is a valuable skill because it builds patience, creativity, and problem-solving while empowering people to repair, customize, and create items by hand.
Learning Goal:
Develop fine motor skills and design thinking while improving hand-eye coordination.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the workshop, students will develop hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills by accurately performing basic hand-sewing techniques while demonstrating patience, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
This event is open to undergraduate students only. Limited plushie available on first come basis.
This workshop is part of our Re/Make History exhibit in partnership with the Penn Museum Library and the Education Commons.
